I’m getting there with the new home office. Yesterday, Amazon surprised me with my order getting here a day early, so I hooked up the wireless HDMI boxes. DirecTV wanted more money to put an additional receiver in here, as well as the associated wiring. So, I blew $160 on Amazon for these:

The idea is that this room has existed behind the garage for … well, years, but has been filled with stuff. In a burst of energy, I relocated the stuff to the edges of the room, added my stuff, and now I have a living room. The cabin is the bedroom now.
I had visitors for the first time Wednesday. There’s a couch and seating area, from which the office is hidden behind the bar. The bar is a nice place for sitting and smoking, perhaps playing a video game once I get the Xbox hooked up, or for that matter, opening up a PC.
I wanted to give a shout-out to the person who makes all this possible for me, my stepmother. All she asks of me is to be responsible for any bills that I generate, handle some of her logistics, and do some of the fix-it stuff on the house. That’s it. She had no obligation to open her home up for me like this, and I’m appreciative in no small way.
This is my second-to-last week driving pizza, then I take the winter (at least) off and concentrate on remote work. I’m looking foward to it.
